A question that may help here.

What kind of green alga are we speaking of?
The hairy weed kind?
The bushy fern/christmas tree looking kind?
The short turf that looks like a fresh mown yard kind?
Ot the semi slimy kind that loves to grow on the glass?

Corriline alga can overgrow turf alga very easily.
Maybe test your alkilinty and calcium levels and start a two part additive regeim with something like b ionic to promote its growth.

Everyone seems to get a little bubble alga once in a while, best thing for it is to use tweezers and pluck it off and toss it in the trash once in a while.
