Green birdsnest frag.....questions

I got a small frag of green birdsnest at the last swap and it has been doing really well. it was three fingers and is now spliting to 6. Here's the problem. My GBTA got close to it and I think it stung it a few times or someting, and now one of the fingers is dying. Not too happy about that. But should I cut this dead piece off or just leave it? Will the polyps try to repopulate the dead area?

I'd cut it off because algae loves dead SPS skeleton...

I'd cut it off too just to avoid any RTN/SNT issues. The birdnest don't grow back over dead tissue much IME. They tend to grow much faster by just trimming off the dead peice and letting it regrow completely.
