green bubble algee question

i just got couple pieces of live rock form another reefer and it looks like there are few bubbles of green algee ... i never had any of that algee in my system or have any algee problems so my my paramiters being good and low phosphate will this just die out or should i try to remove the few pieces .....

Remove the pieces, quarantine the rock. Make sure it is long gone before putting it in your tank.

Trust me on this one, bubble algae is not something you want to play with. IME you can have zero phosphates (well at least that's what the test kit says), and zero nitrates yet the bubbles seem to thrive. It doesn't react the same as other algaes IME, I have battled them all.

Has anyone found anything that will eat the bubble algee?

Alledgedly Mithrax crabs each it, I had 25 in a 240g tank that didn't seem to do much. Cooking the rock for 4 months killed it all off though.

Another idea I had that I never did, was to cure the rock in a seperate container with AlgaeX. Some has reported that it can be brutal on livestock, that's why I was going to just try it in a trash can.

wow this thread is like a year old......
what i did is take all the bubbles off with tweezers i did pop few the rinsed the are with frash water from the sink put it back in the tank its been a year since and i have not seen any of that stuff
