I have a green button polyp that has been acting strange the past 2-3 weeks. It opens up, but pulls its "bell" down over itself so it is more or less inverted. See pic below (not great resolution, sorry!). In the past, this button polyp has been wide open and very happy. Not sure what's going on...??
The other coral inhabitants in my tank are doing great. I have a hammer, duncan, candy cane, and small brain as well as several other zoas and a mushroom. Fish are all happy too.
Tank specs: 55 gallon bow front, 15 gallon sump/fuge, 50lbs live sand, ~50lbs live rock. I moved the tank about 2 months ago (short move) and everything has settled in well to the new home.
Salinity 1.023
pH - 8.5
Alk - 7.0 dkh (2.5 Meg/L)
Nitrate - 7ppm
Nitrite - 0
Ammonia - 0
Phos - 0
Ca - 380-400
I did purchase a new light (Hydra52 HD), and spend 2 months slowly ramping up - actually am still ramping up (only at 50% max) - I think this light at full capacity would be too strong for my small tank.
Anyhow, if anyone has any thoughts on what's going on w/ my green button polyp I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
