Green Carpet sucked into Koralia...Help! Photo attached.

I woke up this am to find my green carpet anemone had detached from its spot and got sucked into the grill one of my Koralia fans.

I've had the fan off for about an hour and he dosen't seem to be trying to get out. It looks like he's injured pretty bad.

Question is .. how do I get him out? Would cutting it out kill him? Should I just wait? I'm not sure what to do.

Here's a terrible photo of it. Sorry for the quality

Can't tell from the picture but are any of the underside torned? You can try placing a small pump and blow it in the opposite direction to see if it will loosen from the grill. Otherwise, take your time and apply gentle pressure from inside the grill and see if you can get some of it out.

I've had the fan off for about 3 hours now and he looks like he's trying to slide out. Not sure if the underside is torn. It looks like someone shaved his tenticles off in several places and the areas are blackned.

I don't think I'm goiing to have to, but can you cut/trim off the edges and the anemone be ok?

Dont cut it then your asking for trouble (infections) If it cut the disk of the anemone better then the foot! Try move the Korilla toward the surface of the tank so part of the anemone is out of the water and that might help to persuade it to come out!

i like the idea of...Do WORK SON! quoted originally from Mr Big Black Bokins but quoted from on this thread from Charlie

I cut the grill on the Koralia and got him out. He is not happy at all. The last section that was stuck looks like it has been pinched very bad and may come off. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the help!

My purple did the same thing about 3 months ago and has fully recovered. Just make sure your water parameters are perfect and there is good flow.

Has anyone seen any type of shields for sale, and if so, where can they be purchased? Doni. it looks like you an EcoMarine Vortech system. Did you find a grill to cover the prop?
