Green Chalice Coral White Edges? Pic Included!

I've had a green chalice frag for about 1.5-2 weeks. The tank is 3 months old. It had a small amount of whiteness on the edge when I bought it. The white edge is getting more prominent. Is this a problem or new growth? The polyps are out at night. I haven't spot fed it, just fed the tank.

Water Parameters:
90G, with an operating water volume in the sump of 25G.
Nitrates: 0ppm
Ca: 410ppm
Mg: 1440ppm
dKH: just over 7
ph: 8.27
Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 78 degrees F.

* I should mention that it is under a 6 bulb HO T5 light fixture. It is low in the tank, but not under any live rock (i.e. it's getting direct light). I know lighting can be an issue with these corals. I like the placement of it, and I didn't think I should put it in shade, but you can escape direct light in the tank if not under something.

Thanks!

Anyone know? This is my first experience with Chalice. I know that white tips on SPS are new growth, but not certain about this. Picture is from iPhone, sorry for so-so quality.

I have a chalice colony that is red and the growth ring that swells up around the edge is white. It has been that way for years. I'm not too sure about this one though. I say as long as you aren't showing skeleton it should be fine.

Everything your doing seems OK but a white or receding edge on a chalice is not a great thing. Alk is a tiny bit low. feed it at night if you can

Looking at the picture , it looks like new growth. I can't see a bright white which would be the skeleton.

Ok, thanks everyone. Thanks for the pics watchguy123. Yeah, there is no exposed skeleton like that, just a white ring around the edge. I think I'll leave it for now and keep an eye on it, and it's placement, and spot feed it a bit at night and see how it goes. Thanks again.

Hey I just got a chalice that is in the same boat as yours white around the edges just wondering how yours is doing now ?
