Just found a bit of info, not sure if its true or not, Has anyone ever experienced or heard of green chromis acting like a cleaner fish to larger fish/tank mates? I'm more or less thinking this is miss information but am interested none the less in what everyone thinks.

never heard of it but i have never heard of mollies acting as cleaners but i got one that that has set up a fish cleaning station so i guess its possible but not likely

I just put some 1/2" B/G Chromis in a tank with a Klein's Butterfly and the Klein's is constantly trying to get cleaned by them and the Chromis respond accordingly.

Of course, they have no effect on parasites. Lots of fish (e.g. passer angels) clean as juveniles.

Cleaning station

I found this older thread...only because I was doing a google search on the subject. I have a yellow tang that is constantly getting cleaned by my small school (3) of chromis. One fish in particular seems to really clean and pick at him but there is no aggression by either fish. I have never seen this before. If it keeps happening I'll try and snag a pic of the cleaning station.

Also stumbled upon this old thread. My 3 chromis have been cleaning my various fish since day one.. My clowns and my kole tang periodically swim up to the chromis. Oddly enough, I do have a skunk, fire shrimp, and a few peppermints that the other fish utilize. The clowns and tang ignore them and opt for the chromis.

I just caught one of my Blue Chromis cleaning my PBT. I say "caught" because they both reacted by looking at me with that "Nothing going on over here" look.
