green chromis

I have recently tried on 2 seperate occasions to put 2 new green chromis in my tank that already had 3 chromis.
Both times the new 2 have died within 4 hours.
It isnt the water because I tested and other fish/inverts/corals are flourishing.

Is it possible the older chromis killed the new ones/
I thought they were really peaceful.

chromies do kill each other off.
i started with 6. down to 3. but the 3 have been fine for 4ish months.

I have heard that it is best to have fish in groups of odd numbers when schooling...not sure why, not sure where I heard it

if there is nothing in the tank aggressive, they won't school after a while.
