Someone else may be able to narrow it down better.

Possibly either Green Sinularia or Green Nepthea. Personally I have trouble telling the difference between the two, since there are forms of each that look very similar to each other.

Ok thankyou for helping. I just wanted to know and do a little research. Probably should have before i got it but it seems to be doing well so far

That can drive a person nuts... :fun5: :lmao:

The 'leathers' and 'tree corals' can be tricky groups. You get a lot of variations depending on history and what it is. Two of the same corals, growing under different light and flow can end up looking different. Whether it was fragged or is a frag can also change the look and eliminate growth pattern as part of the ID. Then you get variations across species (since we often don't narrow down to an exact species, but a group of related ones). It can drive a person nuts sometimes.

But it can be fun too if you like that kind of things. And have good eyes (or a mind for it, since my eyes are good and I still can't see differences in polyps... :lmao:). As far as I know with these it is the polyps that often narrow down the ID. So that may be somewhere to start the research.

Do a search for "sinularia nepthea eric borneman" Back in 09 on a forum he details how to tell them apart but it requires making a small cutting
