I have never heard of green coraline algae, but that is not to say there is none. I have the following growing in my tank which is a 8 gal oceanic bio cube has been up since January of this year. I have a lot some rocks almost 75 percent covered in purple and pink. I also have some on the back of the tank that is white along with purple and pink. I have also read about orange coraline algae, but I do not have any of this in my tank. My coraline has grown all by itself. I do not use any chemicals to support the growth.

I have it too, will it turn purple, or will we ever get purple coraline? Is it an indication of some sort of param out of whack?

spleify! No coraline algae is not a bad thing, and from what I am understanding from what I have read, it is actually a good thing. For you will not get hair algea or red slime algae growing where coraline algae is present. As far as getting it to grow your lights should help that. For in my case I have only 3 colors pink, purple, and white. I would have to get a live rock with green on it and introduce that to the tank to get green to spread. I read if you want it to spread turn your pumps off for an hour and scrap some off and circulate it around the tank with power heads. That is the quikest way.
