anyone use the green epoxy stick to attach their rocks together?

i bought it at my lfs and they said it was safe to use in a tank that already has live stock in it. i just wanted to double check with the knowledgeable folks here on rc what they thought.

the stick doesn't have a brand on the container. they were just selling them out of a display case and i didn't catch the name. i'm doing a test run with a small piece and the epoxy is really nasty smelling. i'm a little wary of putting it in my tank since it stinks so bad, and you're supposed to wash your hands after using it since it's an irritant.

If its called hold fast,I used it to plug a leak in my sump.Used it underwater and it worked GREAT.No more leak.It smells and gets warm when you knead it.Mine had geen around the putty that you mix together.

You'll use a ton of it locking rock together if you can get it to work. It's tough to get it to hold well enough to support big rocks, coral frags are fine. I use it all the time for that.

Some of the nicest tanks I've seen have been carefully stacked rocks. You have to play with it and jigsaw it together, rock it back and forth to be sure it's well balanced.

That's just my experience. Good luck.

I have seen pics of someone who made a pvc frame then drilled holes in their rock and used zip ties to hold it in place. They still stacked it up but the pvc grid helped to stabilize it and allowed them to do a few things you normally couldn't do with just rock or rock with adhesive.
