ok, there is a really bad bloom of GHA in my 30 gal tank...ive removed most of the rocks with the GHA except for 2. They are the entrance to mitch's cave and hes posting guard right there and I dont want to get wacked. Im going to scrub the GHA off the rocks and put them back in the tank after i scrape the sides and do a 60% water change.

My question is this, can a G. Chiragra survive with out any light while I black out the tank to get the rest of the GHA thats on the sand and 2 or the other rocks?

Please help asap as I have already done half of the 60% change and I would like to get it finished tonight.

Thanks you guys, I really appreciate any info/advise you can give

I would think it wouldn't be too problematic. With the activity of a house it will get some light and keep its circadium rythem.

ok, i just spent the last 5 hours cleaning the tank...i removed the rocks and scrubbed them down, 30% water change after scraping the sides...

I had wicked red and green hair algae in my 3" platysoma tank. Went to Premium aquatics and dropped in a trio of "Baja hermit crabs" and left the lights off for a day. the next day, the algae was completely gone, and Boris only took out one of them.

Sandlot13-yup, it was a P.I.A took a little over 5 hours and left me with a very sore back...

Mickey85-Im gunna have to look into some Baja hermits...know where I can order some?
