Anybody got any suggestions on getting rid of hair algae. I have tried turbo snails different crabs. So far nothing has really worked other than me piling it off by hand.

Test kits won't tell you the whole truth bc the hair algae is thriving off nitrates and phosphates......what are you using to lower nitrates/phosphates?

check your mixing bucket for contaminents, bleach it and your pump. Check your rodi its always water... get rid of as much as possible by hand do several water changes including filter sock and or sponges everytime you change water.

When was the last time you changed your bulbs? Is the tank getting any sunlight on it at all? What kinds of filtration and you using?

My sons problem with green hair algae ended up being his ro/di unit. Even with cartridge changes he still had problems. Ended up using hydrogen peroxide to get rid of it and had to get a new ro/di unit and no problems since.
