What ever you do, do not purchase API test kits
From my experience for the most part they are fairly accurate (even when months/years past expiration).. I still pull out a nitrate test kit expired in 2009 for fun and it matches my red sea/nyos test kits..
I've never had a bad experience with them (used it for years)..
But many do seem to get false positives.. Now that could just be user error too.. Not that its hard at all to put X drops in water.. They are certainly one of the easiest to use IMO..
Having said that... I don't buy them anymore and go red sea or salifert or nyos even..
