Green leather toadstool..Who right...Who wrong?

My toadstool has a bleached area on it and now has a hole through it. One lfs told me it was a lack of water flow on it and that detritus can get on it. I felt that I had enough flow on it because all the polyp sways in the current. The other lfs told me it could be some parasites that get on it after lights out and to dip it in Lugol Solutions. Has anyone had this on theirs toadstool and what did you do to solved this problem?

mine got the same thing a few months back!!!! a hole dead center in the middle of my toadstool. didn't know what the heck was going on.

well, I didn't do anything to it as far as trying to cure it. it's got a low power powerhead blowing over it, to keep good flow. it was a good size hole, length of a nickel maybe. It's just now starting to grow back together. mine is one tough cookie!! hardy fellow. so, as far as telling you what to do, I don't want to say not do anything b/c that's what I did, and then have yours die.
I've never used Lugols, I just let nature take its course I guess. Mine has great polyp extension everyday, I feed phyto couple times a week. This is just what I've done.
