I always see on wholesale lists "Green Mantis" and i was just wondering what species would that be???? I'm sure that it varies but in your opinion what species?

thank you in advance

i am sure that it will probably be a wennerea but i just wanted your opinion

a common "green mantis" is N. wennerae due solely to the fact that it is easily caught and the most common of all mantids. no guarantee it will be that of course.

that said, people sell as "green mantis" because they don't know what species it is. most just don't care enough to get a species name. it's worse when they say "peacock mantis" but it ends up being a freakin pistol shrimp (yes it has happened).

Wholesales make up the name to suit the situation. Many gonodactyloids are green and I have seen just about every species with green morph called the "green" mantis. However, their is one stomatopod that is named "green", Gonodactylellus viridis.
