Hi
I went to a LFS today after phoning them up asking if they have any RBTA's in and they said they had pink ones in. So i went in, rushing to the Marine section in excitement and they were like greeny with pink tips I was soooo looking forward to seeing one deep red in colour with lovely bubble tips.
So, my question is will these ones turn in to RBTA's? The shop was extremely busy so i didnt get a chance to ask, but ill be going up tomorow and i will. All i can describe them as is that the tentacles were green but the tips to them were pink. I have heard stories of Green BTA's turning to RBTA's...may this happen???

Cheers

NB similar to this nem..you can see the pink tips to the tentacles...

It is very hard to tell what color BTA's would be under different lighting. My clones can be anywhere from hot pink to dark rose in my tank depending on the lighting and tank conditions. My GBTA's are flourescent green tipped while the mother colony at the lfs are pretty but not nearly as striking. So in my opinion, you can take the chance and hope it becomes something you really like or you can wait and get the one you want and hope it stays that way....

btw, no point in asking the lfs...what you see is what you get.

A lot of RBTA's have green near the base of the tentacles. This doesn't mean that they aren't RBTA's, because they are. They just have that green strain in them. When healthy they will be bright red with a green tint near the foot.
