Green People Eater color change?

I've been having some problems with my zoas not opening all the way, with feeder tentacles extended only half way--it looks like the system is on the rebound, thank goodness for that!!--My question is that my GPE have changed color to an almost purple/brown color, still with green mouths--is this possible or could this be a sign for a lighting change? I have had my power compacts for a little over 6 months and was trying to get them to go about 8--any thoughts on this and why it could be happening? Could this also explain my previous problems? Thanks for you replies--

Yeah, PCs can be very hard to maintain good color in corals unless changed very often.
