Lately some maricultured colonies I bought are starting to deepen in color from their initial faded color after introduction to my tank after a month or so(a good thing.) I am battling some cyano and algae problems. I dose NOPOX.
I think too much green phosphorescence under actinics (in my case royal blue LEDs) generally is a result of high phosphates, meaning the zoox are getting denser. I may be wrong, though. The coral is also getting greener under halides.
Has anyone noticed maricultured SPS (or any SPS for that matter) getting greener under actinics being a sign of phosphates on the rise? Or do all of your SPS do this eventually?
I currently have 0.75 ppm nitrates (lamotte) and 0 phosphates (hanna ulr checker) but I have tons of cyano.
