Green Polyp Sarco Bleaching ?

See pics below. All of a sudden the tip is starting to bleach, why is this happening? Is this how they shed? This has been in my tank for over a year and the toadstool in front of it is very happy.

I don't really have an answer for you as to why this is happening, but if the coral has got a stalk or trunk you might want to cut the top off. It will definitely look a little odd at first, but under the right conditions it should grow back in no time. FWIW I do this to mine about once every year and it always comes back.

If the picture is accurate (colorwise and all that) and it is big enough to snip off a frag than I would do that. I have never seen or heard of one looking like that.

This way you may get to keep a piece to grow out again. Good Luck.
