Hi. I have a green urchin in my 29 gallon tank. He's pretty neat and sticks shells to himself.
Once he eats all the algae, should I personally feed him? what food would it eat other than algae?
Thanks for the help.
The recipe is used by a university research lab which studies sea urchin reproduction, development, and bioassay. They must have hundreds of adult urchins & thousands of juveniles in culture so the urchin cookie must be successful. The website with the recipe has a lot of good information on it even if you're not trying to breed urchins. For example, this page mentions algal pastes which are the right size for filter feeders like clams, feather dusters, and tunicates and algal cultures for animals that need slightly larger sized food particles: http://www.stanford.edu/group/Urchin/p2m.htm
