Now... How fast does GSP really grow? If it grows as fast as you people make it out to be I'll just get a $20 frag.

Under the right conditions it is a satanic coral that will pretty much grow like switchgrass and take over your entire tank.

If this is not your goal, i would advise that you keep a close eye on any colony that you put in your tank. It grows like nothing else.

That is crazy, although it kinda makes me want to start like a 20g GSP tank. lol

It would be fun to cover the entire bottom of the tank with LR rubble or just leave it glass and let the bastards coat the whole thing. Have to go in there with a weed whacker just to see through the front.

LoL yeah. Maybe I'll pick up a 20g and plumb it into my 150g system. Put no rock or rubble in it, leave the whole thing glass. I can take a frag or my current GSP and see what happens. I wonder if it would act like a GSP scrubber... use nutrients from the main tank. kinda like a xenia scrubber. hmmm

yeah I actually was wondering if you brought on the long tentacles with high flow or if that was a genetic variable.

All the LFS around here have GSP with really short tentacles.

I'm by no means an xpert but when I got my first frag, they had short tentacles. Over time they got longer. I've since fragged some and placed them in my mantis tank that has lower flow than my main reef...and the tentacles are shorter. So I believe flow will affect how long the tentacles get.

this makes sense... zoas do the same thing

I've been keeping an eye on mine and it seems to creep along about a 1/2" of growth every week up my rock wall. I would definitely just start with a $20 frag and just put it next to the rocks you want it to grow on. then you can sell the original frag to someone else!

be careful this stuff grows fast the key is dkt the higher it is the faster it grows with in ideal condisions it will double in size every month

I have some that is trying to take over my little tank. I wish I would have never put it in there.

Go to the LFS and buy some Fluke Tabs. Dilute one in some tank water and put it in your tank. Any Xenia or GSP will die. Make sure you take out any cleaner shrimp as the drug will shock and kill them. Fluke Tabs will not harm anything else. Did this to eradicate Xenia and GSP that was ramped and it worked fine:)

I wish I could just get the stuff to grow at all!

Any of my GSP just sort of.....survives but doesn't thrive at all.

Same here. Everything but Xenia and GSP grows like crazy for me.

that gsp tank looks niice!
ive been thinking about gluing someon the back of my tank but cant decide if i look the coralline look or the gsp look?!
