Green star polyps retract slightly

Whenever I have my Moonlights on the GSPs in my tank extend all of the way and have nice waving flow to them. About an hour after the lights come on the retract a little. I thought this might be because of too much light (250w MH over a 29g tank) but now they have spread into the shade and still do it. Any ideas?

weird, mine are the complete opposite. If they are spreading then must be doing ok. I know that when I moved tanks and my water parameter fluctuated, my gps would retract, so make sure to keep things stable.

Mine retract when the moonlights are on, but stay out during the daylights. sometimes they have bad days and stay retracted.

+1 to parameters...very hardy coral (survived exposed to air and winter temperatures in MI for a couple of hours and still survived), but seem to not adjust to swinging parameters very well.

That's what is weird none of my other corals (LPS, SPS, soft corals) are having any problems whatsoever.

I had mine on the sandbed and the did the same thing. I moved them closer to the top and they are fully open while the lights are on.

mine begin to open when the lights come on and close as the various lights go out. a few polyps always stay open under the moon lights. i did have them close up for days in the early days. like when the flow on the changed considerably
