Green Star Polyps Skeleton?

I got a gsp frag and I wanted it to grow evenly on one of my main rocks so I carefully pealed it off the ugly frag rock. After pealing it off I noticed there was a clear skeleton like material under neath it was wondering what that is?

Probably the glue used to fasten the GSP to the frag plug. GSP does not have a skeleton like a hard coral does. It's a soft coral that grows on a mat.

You should see a purple mat (rubber like) and they retract in side that rubber purple mat. No calcium carbonate based skeleton since they are not sps.
