Green Star Polyps won't grow

I have these green star polyps on this medium size frag and they refuse to grow. They're at the very top of my tank with moderate water flow. My nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia are 0. My pH is 8.2 and my salinity is normal. My water is pretty much nutrient free, so I'll be adding some trace elements pretty soon. I know this is the problem with my xenias. I don't really know alot about star polyps thought. What should I do to really help my star polyps grow. I've had them for about 2 months with no improvement at all.

Try placing under more subdue lighting and make sure they under strong flow. Also, add some iodine peridically to your tank.

Be careful what you wish for. 2 months is not really long enough to judge and may not be fully acclimated to your system yet. Once it starts though you problably be starting a new thread on how to stop it.

Detritus can accumulate on the mat quite easily, just periodically blow it off with a turkey baster.
