I was wondering how to frag a green star polyp. I got one free from my LFS for my first piece of coral and its doing great as expected.. they kind are known for being impossible to kill. anyways its going to soon start to reach over to another rock and start growing on this rock. i want to cut it back. should i frag the cuttlings and try to sell or give them away or should i just toss them? do people even want those? imo they hold little to know value.

be careful they will grow over everything....lol....cut pcs off and glue to a small pc of rock,,,then maybe can trade for other frags...

Frag and give'em away. It might get you a few bucks off of something every once in a while from your LFS. Normal procedure for fragging these corals is:
1) Lay some rubble next to the colony, and allow the colony to overgrow it, then cut it away from the colony. Done.
2) Cut off some tissue from the coral, and superglue it to a frag.

Carefully take a razor and work it under the flesh and scrape the rock so that a piece comes off kind of in a sheet. May not be worth keeping, depends on if the LFS is willing to trade for anything, often not, but can't hurt to ask.

I think ill just try to give them away to people just starting their tanks. I dont really need anything out of them lol
