Green STNing

OK, a few of my acros have started to STN from the base up. The skeletons turn green...
I read a thread that said that they could be leeching phosphates from the piece of LR that they are on, but mine arent even on rocks.
Anybody know what is going on?

that tenius colony that I got from you is doing the same thing. The skeleton is just a tint of green, dont know if its algae on the dead skeleton or what.

Really? Are you sure the tissue is dead?
I have 2 acros that are doing this, but they started about 1 month after I sold you that one when I moved my tank...

I believe the search is "phosphate whipping". It was thought to come from aquacultured plugs...I think, not live rock.

IME base up recession is usually phosphates or flow issues. Unless there's a critter doing it.

I believe it is "phosphate wicking", was originally put forth in one of Bomber's threads... and I don't buy it. Somethings effecting your corals, but it's not drawing PO4 up from the rock/plug/or whatever IMHO :)

I think youre right, because theyre unmounted frags...
I dont know what it is, I dont see anything on them as far as pests go (I have a pretty good macro on my camera)
and Ive Lugols dipped the affected acros as well...
