Green toadstool problem?

I bought a small green toadstool at the Palm Beach Marine Aquarium Society frag swap and it was looking pretty good, but suddenly it looks as though my emerald crab might have taken a chunk off of it. It seems to be declining everyday and I'm not sure how to go about trying to save this coral. Any advice would be appreciated, here's a picture of the toadstool...

I have a toadstool frag just like that. I was really worried about it as oneday it looked good the next day not so good. But they do take time to settle in, shed and get attached.

Is there anyway you can take your emerald crab out and put it into another tank?

What else do you have in that tank?

as far as animals. I have a clown, 2 chromis a royal gramma and a goby. Snails and a few crabs. The crabs are two emerald crabs and then a few of the blue leg hermits. I moved it last night to an area with more flow and away from other corals. I de attached the mushroom just in case to.

Well one site I went to says they are reef safe. But I don't know much about the emerald crabs. If you moved it hopefully it will be fine there. I know that leathers don't like to be moved, so hopefully you have found a good spot for it. Make sure the water flow is good there as it will shed.

Also one other thing with leathers, make sure you run some carbon in your tank. This keeps the water clean as leathers can give off a toxin.

My toadstool has polyps out and its looking better now that I have it in a place where it is happy.

good luck and keep us posted.....:)

I have 5 green Sarcophytons from 3/4" to 2 inch heads in three different tanks. I can tell you from my experience that they do not liked to be touched by bare hands or move around frequently. I agree with running carbon and then just be patient. I would be more worried about being too close to other agressive corals than your crabs. I should have some pics in my gallery.
