I see a lot of cyano bacteria which is chocking your coral, you must clean it by hand to remove the film that's depriving the coral from feeding, and then you need to treat the cyano. This bacteria tents to settle on gorgonians and leathers preventing growth and feeding and ultimately they just die, clean it as much as you can and if you can ( I see that is attached to a rock) give it an Iodine bath and placce back in the water, make sure your nitrates are on check and your Alk. is on check.

OK will do, going to do a good water Change get most of that s^%t out of their and going to buy a clean up crew from reeftopia thanks minispider

use a turkey baster to first blast the film of cyano off the coral, then suck the chunk out of the tank and discard.

When you remove the film out of the tank, you are also removing whatever nutrient is feeding the cyano in the first place. Once you tank matures a bit more, the good bacteria will keep cyano in check.

this tank is over 2 years old. i spent 2 days taken coral, rocks and got rid of the sand washed every thing down with vinegar and hot water. pumps, skimmers, tank. The leather went bad fast their were dead arms with that black crap all over the tank tried saven a couple pieces, I mite of been feeding to much?or was lacking a good clean up crew? So ill be feeding a little less and order more critters

12 days after and the tank is doing awesome now with the new sand and every thing being cleaned of. I cleaned the old sand out omg i mixed and stirred 5 cups of sand at a time 6 to 7 times until it was clean this stuff was black and scary its like new now and am using it in a ten gallon setup i have a pair of naked clowns and a carpet in it.

thanks yiliyang and minispider for your advise.
