green yumas turning purple!

I am quite pleased with these guys. I got them about a month ago as a colony of green yumas. I had them under MH and after a week of some melting and most detatching and moving around I changed the MH for PC 50/50.
I have noticed here in the last week that some are beginning to turn purple.
Here they were right after I got them

there are afew that are still full green and a couple that are turning brown. The brown are directly under the light, the full green are on the bottom in the light and the ones changing purple are half-way up and semi-shaded by a rock shelf.

That's a really neat transformation. I have a metallic blue/green discosoma that has turned purple with a green/blue sheen to it over the last couple weeks. It's amazing how much these little guys can change.

i got yumas, an in the morning thier totally different colors..oh i found 3 babies last night.. woo hoo..thier a light orange..

My family of yumas started out like yours.....I placed them on the bottom of my tank 36 inches deep....With 20000k and actinic t5s.....They are now purple and blue...It's really cool to watch them change colors....I guess the diff light spectrum changes the color of the zooxanthellae...

I have a colony of green and underneath one polyps there is a tiny baby polyp that is purple. I guess they might be the similar to yours.
