Tomoko,
Glad to here your mom is stable, I hope she continues to improve as well.
On Reilly and the tanks, I will give you a conversation between my mom and I on one of my trips. (and this is no joke) but I am sure Reilly wouldn't let you problem get to this point. But thought a little humor at my expense might help you along.
3 days into a four day trip!
Me: Hey Mom, hows the tank hows the fish looking
Mom: Oh son they are doing great all swimming around at the top of the tank. Looking Like they are waiting on food.
Me: All at the top of the tank? Looking like they are waiting for food?
Mom: Yeah, just kind bobbing around up there you no like they are picking up food. But you know its kinda hard to see them the lights are not on. By the way I thought you said they were on a timer, I haven't seen them on.
Me: (Feeling sick to my stomach) Mom, you mean the lights haven't came on at all? Are the pumps running?
Mom: Nope, no lights, Hold on let me see, how do I know if the pump is running?
Me: Uh do you here water running under the tank?
Mom: (In a tone like yeah I am glad I didn't mess that up).
Oh, hold on, Nope its not running
Me: Mom thats not good how long has it been like this?
Mom: Well there was a storm night before last, maybe that did it.
Me: Mom go to the breaker box and check the breaker.
Mom: That all looks good, no breakers tripped
Me: (Starting to get really sick about now thinking and thinking) Mom check the GCFI breaker behind the plugs and press the button.
(Loud pump sounds and water russhing sounds)
Mom: Yep that was it, now the lights are one and the water is running.
I got home to find my tank much like I left it. I figure it went for at least 36 hours without any water movement, air, or lights. Nothing died and all was well.
