Hi everyone,
My name is Travis and I am a junior at Bucknell university in Lewisburg. I was recently bitten by the reef bug and have a 10g nano that i set up at the end of May in my dorm room at school.
I would definately be interested in joining NCPARS and attending meetings/frag swaps if there are any within a reasonable drive from me. I am also looking for decent reef stores in the area, I haven't had too much luck finding places on my own. I did go to Miller's Reef in Bloomsburg yesterday and the guy who runs it was extremely nice and helpful but i am always on the lookout for more places to go.
I have a thread about my tank in the nano forum: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=919366

and here is a shot of my tank:

welcome travis

try that fish/pet place in lancaster (great prices on dry goods)

or somethingfishy, toofishy.com good dry good prices and great coral prices and theres a few frag tanks

Welcome Travis!

NCPARS is very spread out. We try to do events in differant area's so everyone has a chance to attend.

I am not to familiar with stores up state but the places Brad mentioned are great. The folks at That Pet Place and Something Fishy(just north of Allentown) are really helpfull and have a great selection of live stock and supplies.

Nice tank!

Carl

Thanks!
I think that the two stores mentioned look great. I knew about that fish place but something fishy is new to me. Unfortunately both appear to be almost 2 hours from me, this would be so much easier if i could have things shipped but i don't really trust the mailroom here...

hey travis
i guess i'm just lucky to live just about 5 miles from something fishy there pretty good about shipping a hear.

Yeah, I just worry about the speed at which the mailroom here would tell me about a package. I don't want to have a box of coral sitting there overnight because they didn't get around to putting a package slip in my mailbox. I did just read that there is a really nice place opening up in williamsport which is only 40 or so minutes from me.

I used to have corals shipped to my dorm often up at PSU, the first time you just have to check every few hours on the day of arrival as you have time in between classes and once u get an idea of when the packages come you can arrange to be there. Truthfully it won't hurt a coral to sit for an hour or two in the mail room, just explain that you have something valuable and perishable coming and it's uber important that you're notified asap. tank looks good by the way.

Hi Travis! I'm a new reefer and a relatively new member of NCPARS. I'm about an hour from you. There's an LFS in Pottsville called Puppy Luv and I've had really good luck with fish I've gotten there. He does special orders too. Good luck and I hope I see you at a frag swap sometime!
