I've been a lurker for a while, occasionally posting in the other parts of the board but never wandering over to the club section.
About me, I upgraded a 20 gal long to a 75 gal about 2 months ago. Things are going well but I haven't set up the refugium and skimmer yet so my nutrients aren't being controlled. I have 2 mushrooms, brown and some green zoas, a palythoa colony, 2 large star polyp rocks, and a branching frogspawn. I also have a 9" snowflake eel, watchman goby (missing at the moment
), emerald crab, peppermint shrimp, and a pistol shrimp. I'm sure the shrimp will end up gone due to the snowflake, but I'm hoping to keep my pistol (red striped w/ blue legs). Plus I will probably get rid of the peppermints soon.
I have 2 problems right now. What fans are you using to cool your tanks. I want to avoid using the 4" PC fans because of the need for a fairly large amperage AC-DC converter.
Second, aiptasia. I caved in finally and started doing boiling water dips of my none coral occupied rocks. However, now I have aiptasia surrounding my zoas and palythoas and a withering patch of Xenia (Doing better in this last week with a new position). Does anyone know where I could locally pickup some Berghia Nudibranch? I was hoping to get 3 and let them control the aiptasia rather than eradicate it.
Finally, Is there an actual club that meets? I checked the website for it, but it's out of date and only says to go to the Florida Aquarium. That's kind of a large place to just start wandering about looking for a meeting.
