My aquarium is about 8 months old and has recently developed a grey fuzz on the rocks. The rock started as dead rock but was seeded and cycled with live rock. Should I be worried
Thanks

I have the same issue currently I believe. I'll add some details of my own and see if they sound similar. If not, free bump. My tank is a bit over 2 months old and started with dead rock too. My stuff looks like a white/grey hair algae or something. It is slimey to the touch like an algae and comes off easily. In fact I can blast a lot of it off with a turkey baster, but it comes back super fast. I am surprised I can't see it growing. It starts as a few random strands about a half inch to 1 inch long then spreads growing into what can best be described as cobwebs on the glass and just a general fuzz on the rock. My diamond goby was sucking the stuff off the glass and rocks and the snails and crabs are eating it, so I guess it is a plant? It looks like decaying hair algae, but I had no hair algae for a couple of weeks prior, unless it is growing and dying immediately?

My parameters are normal. amm. 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, PH 8.2, temp 80, salinity 1.024. I don't have any corals yet, so no tests done for calcium, alk, etc.
