Group Buy: Refractometers

Ha! I already had a refractometer, but it has never been calibrated. I calibrated both my old one and this new one, and both showed my tank at 1.024. So I'm on the opposite end of that problem.

Palileo, the only way you're going to solve that is with water changes with lower salinity. Dripping in fresh water won't remove the salt that's already in the tank. You could pull some water out, then drip, but drip alone won't do it. You have to pull some salt out.

This thing so totally rocks dude... (in my best Jeff Spicoli voice)

jwedehase, Edwin,

Thank you guys very much.

Merry Christmas...

Welp, Ed was gracious enough to let me pick it up tonight. Went to calibrate it and it was already dialed in out of the box. Fine product jwedehase, thanks again!

My sps tank was dialed in at 1.025, but my softy tank was at 1.027

i have enough room to add in about 10 gallons of water... added 1.5 gallon today... i'll remove 1.5 tomorrow and add again. can i do this everyday or should i do it less often?

Just like to send out my thanks as well to Edwin. It was nice meeting you. Thanks also to jwedehase and CVR/Mars for letting me ride in on this group buy.
