I've been involved in them before. Some go smoothly, others will make you wish you never had this idea
Here are some things to think about before you decide to do this:
Consider limiting the number of people. (fewer the better)
How will everyone be paying? (paypal is best) - get payment before you order, if they dont have the fish/coral/invert they want when you order you can always refund them.
Who receives order?
-coordinating a group pickup at your house can be daunting, we all have different schedules. Make sure people know approx where you live before placing their order.
how are you caring for the fish until they are picked up?
How are you handling returns and credits (liveaquaria - 14 day alive guarantee)
All this to save the $30 shipping cost

I agree with you that its a headache.
That said, Not many of us buy many fish all at once. to pay$30 for every 30-80 $ purchase as you fill your tank is quite expensive.
At the same time I believe that the fish they sell and ship are much better quality (healthier) and they have an excellent selection.

Good points. I've done coral group orders but usually limit to 1-3 people and you need to be crystal clear about expectations in terms of pick-up, payment, etc. Only do it with those you trust or know or at least have a good feeling about. Among friends PayPal Gift is OK, but if not friendly regular paypal would be safer. I never even thought of the headache of a possible return/credit! At the end of the day, we are all local here, so we for the most part know where each other live if you needed to...:hammer:
