Growing Macro with Sunlight

I'm looking into culturing amphipods and would like to know if anyone's grown macroalgae using only sunlight as their lighting source. If so, what materials/techniques did you use?

you don't need light if your looking to culture amphipods. i've had a tank next to the window getting natural sunlight and grew macro well. you will need to pay attention when it gets hot during the summer. if not you will have seaweed soup
