growing macro's with seachem's excell

has any one tryed doseing Excel? Its a new seachem product that claims to be an organic carbon for the planted aquarium.

I have started the recomended doseing for my macro tank and have seen oxygen bubbles from cyano go crazy.

week two i removed as much cyano as posable and started runing my protien skimmer. no more cyano killed the skimming and I have started doseing again. still a lot of o2 bubbles macro's growing ok but not real fast?
one negitive I had some mushrooms in the tank as hichhickers on a rock, and when i started the dosing they shrunk down to nothing

any sugestions??

system spec's
55 gal
4x54w pc's
65 p live rock
berlin skimmer / mag 7 (for bailout)
seio 650

water change every week with water from diffrent reeftanks
never tested water quality if I think I have an issue I plug in the mag 7

I really dont recommend it. Besides questions of toxicity for corals and other sensitive invertebrates I worry about the effect Excel may have on macroalgae growth.
