Growing out Blasto's

I just got a nice blastomussa frag with 2 1/2 heads on it (3 mouths) and was wondering the best method is to grow it out for future propagation and then letting it grow into a nice colony. Like with GSP I just put a piece of rock beside it so it will spread onto the rock for example or do they just build up on there own ? I'm guessing it will spread new heads on a rock beside it. Any help appreciated.

Well...you can sometimes get lucky, and have it spread like this where you can break the rock...lol, I have even used a razor blade on heads before...but the best method for this one is a coral saw. Is it a wellsi, or a merletti? Congrats!

I've also heard of them spreading onto a nearby rock, but.like was just said, the best way is a band saw.

It will encrust onto any rocks it's glued onto, if it's a wellsi it might be a while, merletti can take off pretty quick though
