Growth on female blue jaw, fin

Been Reefin'
Hey I have been watching this for a few days it's looking to be going from white to dark. She is eating great and all is well. There is a male with her also. Its the bottom fin in the pics. What is it? Should I treat or will it go away with time, good nutrition etc? Could be wrong but it kind of resemble a bacterial infection from my searches etc???

Thanks a lot!!

Kyle

I can barly see it, but if its the white cottony like stuff, I believe you fish has Lymphocytis virus.

She has a virus, there is really no 'cure' for it, it will hopefully go away on its own with good water quality and nutrition.

check your water qaulity and if anyhting is off adjust it.

The main thing you want to watch out for is secobdary infections if it gets really bad.

Most of the time it will just clear up on its own.

Thanks for the reply hattie. I have had her and the male for about a month now. When I got her she had it a little already, but I kind of figured that's what it was. She was cheap and thought I would try and rescue her. Overall she is a great fish and eats like a hog!

I will test my water to see how it is all doing, but my sps are doing great so hopefully that is a good sign my water is decent. Is there any other way to treat or just let it go? If it came down to is can't you use like tetracyclin (sp?)?

The growths have gone from a white color to like a dark gray/brown. Does that mean it may be dying or getting worse? I would say she is getting better, but want to make positive. These fish have such personalities and she already eats out of my hand. The male is kinda skidish still...
