Growth on Majestic

Need some help...I have a Majestic Angel in QT for about 16 days now. When I first got him he was in poor condition, pretty stressed out and breathing rapidly. I suspected he had flukes, because of some initial symptoms like head shaking and scratching on rocks. Long story short, I treated him with Prazipro, which he responded well to the treatment and seems to be very strong. He eats whatever I put in the tank now (like pellets, flakes, and frozen) and is very active, not shy at all. However, he still has this growth on his lip that seems to go away but come back. At first I thought it was a fluke or worm, it went away after the prazipro treatment, but not sure if it was something else, like a lymphocyst. Then it came back, but he would gnaw on some live rock and the next day it would be gone. So far it doesn't appear to bother him, but it bothers the heck outta me. I'm wondering if I need to treat it for anything? More Prazipro?? Or wait it out. Any help would be great. Here are some photos for reference.

I would wait it out as long as the fish is acting and eaing like normal. I have recently learned it seems the less teating you can do the better for the fish. Prazipro is a great treatment. How did you administer it just followed the directions on the bottle?

Thanks for the reply RBU1. Yup, I just followed the directions on the bottle for dosage. Recommended treatment is between 5-7 days with retreatment after 3-5 days. My QT has been running fallow for 4 months. (Not by choice, just lazy...I didn't want to tear it down). But before I put him in there, I performed a 50% water change using NSW. He was in bad shape from the FW dip and transport...I thought for sure I was going to lose him. So I treated him with Prazipro using the recommended dose (1 teaspoon per 20 gallons). My QT is only about 10 gallons (I know...I need to get a bigger tank), so I used a half teaspoon. Added a powerhead for flow and aeration. Bumped up the temp to 80F. Soaked all his food in Vita Chem (fed 2x per day). Performed a WC after 4 days, and re-treated with Prazipro at full strength. But during the WC, I noticed he was more active and lively, then I dosed again and he seemed more mellow. So after another 4 days of Prazipro, I performed another WC but all symptoms of flukes went away after the first treatment. No more rapid breathing, scratching on surfaces, head shaking/twitching, white blotches and the weird growths on his fins, and body fell off. The only thing that remains is this bump on his lip. Total treatment was for 8 days straight. I've heard of people treating for 14 days, which was my initial plan but since I saw a change in behavior and speedy progression after the first treatment, I thought I'd keep the treatment per the directions on the label. I'll take your advice on waiting it out. It just seems like he's doing so well, I want to add him to my DT. But I'm going to leave him in there for at least 1 month. He's been in there for 17 days now.

So far, it's been about 22 days now in QT. My Majestic still has the growth on his lip, but it has gotten slightly worse. Just a little bigger. It also has a tiny growth on his top fin. I administered another treatment of Prazipro, but I don't think that'll help with the issue, and it's been about 3 days with this treatment. I plan on doing a 50% water change tonight to improve the water quality of the QT, but I'm not sure if I should treat with something else? I've read that if it's lymphocytes, there is no treatment other than waiting until it goes away on its own. He's still eating like a pig. I feed pellets everyday and soak in VitaChem every other day to try to fatten him up. I will feed a mix of Mysis and Spirlina Brine soon to give him a variety. But anything else I should do??? I can take more photos, but the growth just looks slightly bigger.

It sounds and looks liek Lympho from your description and pics. If so, you are right, there is no cure. The good news is that for a healthy fish, it will go away.

I had a regal that had the same issue. It went away in QT after about 6 weeks.

Hang in there and keep him healthy!!

Thanks for your response Makenna. I'll keep him in there until it goes away, but do you think that it's contagious to other fish?
