Growth on torch coral

Recently I have noticed a weird mold like growth on my torch coral. There has also been clusters of white curlys on the coral as well. I haven't been successful researching either of these two growths. Can anyone ID these for me, and tell me if this is something that should be taken care of.

Looks like a sponge and sounds like spirinoid (sp? ) worms

Should I try to remove it or just let it grow a little bit and see what happens?

In my opinion both of them will not cause any issues. The worms can be sharp and pointy when moving the coral but I have a ton in my tank. The only other downside is that they will let out a string to catch food that can irritate other corals sometimes. I have never seen any issues with Lps from them though.

The sponge is fine unless it starts growing like crazy. Usually they will stay pretty small and should pose no harm. They are normally a sign of good conditions in your tank.
