I had to move some things around but the first pics were taken in October 2009. The second pics were taken last night June 29, 2011. Things will be changing soon though. I have a custom 36" x 30" x 20" H rimless on the way in a few weeks. Can't wait!!! :D

Thanks. For lighting, (2) 400w coralvue e ballasts with lumenbright minis and coralvue 20k bulbs. Bulbs are about 15" off the water. Flow consists of pcx-55 return and two tunze 6100's on a multicontroller. I only run my lights about 5.5 hours a day. Parameters are

alk -9
phos- 0-.01
nitrate-2
calcium-470
mag-1350
temp 75-79

Lots of changes since the first pics though. Removed a massive fuge section from my 40g breeder below. Used to run the lights much longer. Now I have an auto top off too.

Wow 400 watts, they look great, but are the on heat and the electric bill?

Thank you for the compliment SaltwaterAddict and I am very happy with the growth! I took out the fuge because it was just plain dirty!! I still have a ton of pods and I feel like the system is cleaner overall. It seemed like after a couple of years, the 4-5" sandbed was trapping detritus and becoming a nitrate factory!!

Wicz101, Thanks!!

I switched from 150w hqi's. I don't notice a huge difference in the electric bill but I did have to add a few fans (2 blowing in and 2 blowing out) and the top of the canopy is open for exhaust. I'm going to be keeping one of the 400w setups for the 36x30x20 but it will be a bit higher and in a floating canopy mounted to the wall.

man that brings back memories. I remember looking at your tank and saying he thinks those little pieces are gonna grow big and fill the tank... boy was I wrong!! looks awesome dude, congrats on the hard work. can't wait for that new tank!!!

On the second pic, was the bigger frag falling off when you took the pic?

The tank is looking great.

Jarrod: I told you it would fill out. It just took a little while. Thanks again for watching my tanks while I'm in Costa Rica next week!!

It does look like it's falling in the third. That's actually how it stayed until it encrusted the grew like crazy!! Can't believe it didn't get knocked down.

ganjero, did you mean the third pic? Not sure what your referring to in the second pic.
