growth rates

I was looking at ultimate frags and they are sold by the polyp. Under good conditions how long would it take them to start spreading to maybe 5 or so polyps. I have button polyps which spread quickly but dont know if these grow as quickly.

It all depends on the type.
Some are fast, some are slow.

Those that have ordered by polyp, do you normally just buy one of the "flavors" you like or get a couple of each.

Tank conditions, parameters and lighting are the only variables that will determine the rate of growth and expansion. Contrary to popular belief, just because a red zoos grew very fast in your tank is no guarantee that I will received the same rate or growth in my tank. If you keep your parameters constant across the board including temp, make sure they are receiving the appropriate medium to high current and a very good source of intense lighting, they will begin to spread in a matter of time.

Note, I recently experimented with reduced water changes to see if indeed the high nutrient water beliefs would increase the growth of zoos. It's true, not only did my zoos have a serious growth spurt, some of my rare mushroom grew, expanded and reduced like never before.

Also, if you want your zoos to proliferate, place them in one spot and leave them there. Don't move them from spot to spot. It will only stunt their growth.
