That's very strange grow shape and almost too funny.
I think 3 of the biggest factors regarding grow shape are:
1. Light:
Corals naturally grow upward toward the light and fan out to expand surface area. For example, if a coral is shaded by another, it might grow "unbalance" on one side trying to reach more light.
2. Flow:
We all know SPS likes lots of flow but strong direct flow is something to be avoid. I have seen very strange shape due to flow. For example, I have seen acros grow almost like a circle around a direct return pipe to avoid the strong force. It would easily rip its flesh off.
3. Chemical and space constraint:
I think this is pretty obviously that most corals avoid touching others and if there is extra space allowed, they would grow around these "irritations". For example, it's not uncommon to see SPS grow around LPS, zoas or softy.
Looking at your photos, I don't think the shape is caused by light or irritations so that leaves us flow. In fact, from the first photo you posted all 3 corals are doing the same thing: They grow to a same height and then bend down.
Is there a line of strong flow across the top of these acros? Are any other acros experience the same shape?
