I just bought a nice sized GSP coral from my lfs .. it was very healthy and looked great. i just bought it yesterday and brought it home. i did the drip method to accimlate to my water. it has been 24 hours and they remail closed. do they take some time to come out ?

VERY hardy coral, like said above, may take days to open... check your basic water parameters often :)

I have a rather large rock I keep moving around so it does not grow/spread onto my other rock work. It almost always keeps closed for a day after I move it. Butchered some trying to get it all out of my sons nano and a little spec grew back into a big rug in no time...Very hardy stuff

been almost a week and still not open. i just moved it so it gets a little more flow .. nothing to strong and it is now getting more light . I am hoping this may help.. what do you think ???

It has been my experience that my GSP do like the higher flow areas. When I increased the flow to my colony they really have begun to grow. I was worried about them, like you, and just waited it out (after experimenting with the flow issue).

After remaining closed for about a week, they had a tremendous growth spurt. Now, every time they close up for a couple of days, they always have a growth increase.

So, now I don't worry about them when they close up fpr a few days. Just check that all else (parameters, etc) are in line and stable.
