GSP melting, being eaten?

I have some gsp in my tank that has always done well, not its starting to die off in patches. Im at a loss, its always done well in less than ideal situations.

Are there any predators that could prey upon it? Im running a fairly nutrient low tank, would this also cause recession?

Unless something is picking at it I can't think of anything else that could be happening. My GSP's have been to hell and back and they always tend to live through it.

^ As have mine. Though, I have noticed that they don't like it if a bunch of algae grows on top of them. This tends to thin them out a bit.

If you have Green Hair Algae(GHA) growing on the GSP it will starve the polyps it is over and ultimately kill them. I experienced this first hand and lost a small colony I had growing. Who would've thought something could kill GSP lol
