So I got first coral yesterday. A GSP frag that is a few square inches of colony.
For lighting I have a 2x65 watt PC retro and the GSP is right under it about 4 inches from the water's surface. Is this a bit much? I've heard they can be moody after tank changes and will not come out. Mine have not since last night.
That is the first day panis part of my post. Mainly I was wondering if the small mats to polyps can move. I have one piece wedged into a crevice on one end and anchored with a small peebble on the other. The one side has worked its way out of the crevice and is moving towards deeper and shadier waters.
Do they have locomotive members similar to sea stars or something? It contours to the rock as it moves. Is it moving under its own power or is it being shifted aroung by current (which isnt all that strong where it is as my tunover is about 11 X/hour(don't worry the pumps are in the mail
))
Thank you
