Guess that poisonous fish!

I heard that a guy came into a local hospital last night after being stung by a fish while cleaning his tank. His arm was swollen and he was in pretty rough shape. He's going to be fine though.

I was told (second hand) that the fish was a "melani". This is just a guess at the spelling. I can't find anything that even sounds close. It is really bothering me that I can't figure out what kind of fish it was.

Any ideas?
