Need convincing for /against getting a small heteractis magnifica for my 50 gallon tank.
It only has two clowns (nigripes) and live rock, no coral, 6300 l per hour of flow(seios), a chiller a 150 watt 10k mh and 150 watts of mixed pc lighting.

I can get h magnifica really cheap (around $8) where I live and some small specimins which appear healthy.
Bubble tips cost alot more but they are plan B at the moment.

Getting them healthy is the key. We really have a hard time with that here, so in alm ost all cases you can't be sure if it was the husbandry or the health of the anemone which killed it.

That being said, Magnificas can grow super fast. they can grow inches in diameter each month if they are well fed. Some might stay small (20 inches or so), but some might get to 36 inches in diameter. They are also a huge bioload. Can your tank handle the ammount of food a magnifica needs?

Just a few things to think about.
